For all of my readers out there that have been swooning over the tall, brooding, mysterious you-know-who, here’s some artwork for you. As well as some bonus.
One of the greatest joys of writing is bringing your characters to life. However, I think writers are at a slight disadvantage here–our words may be beautiful, but they are not a visual manifestation of the people we imagine so vividly. Don’t we all wish to see how those wonderful and not-so-wonderful characters would look in person? Of course we do.
When I first wrote about Maia, I wished I could draw her. But since I couldn’t, I wanted to have her illustrated. You can see my old post on illustrations. Since that only included Maia and a few crucial scenes from The Xifarian Conspiracy, it left me wanting for more. But, there is so much to be done, so little time to do it all. The illustrating project was sent packing, and it camped on the farthest burner available.
Until 2015. When I wanted to make some promotional items designed around The Lightbound Saga. I went looking on a variety of sites, including my favorite–DeviantArt. A week of correspondence resulted in the illustration above by the talented Lily-Fu.
I will be offering a variety of promo merchandise for upcoming contests with this art, so if you are interested, stay tuned.
