Raul Lemesoff, an artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina, has converted a 1979 Ford Falcon into a tank-like ‘Weapon Of Mass Instruction’ (Arma de Instruccion Masiva) to fight ignorance. He teamed up with 7UP to honor World Book Day and built this vehicle with a swiveling turret, a mock gun, and room to store about 900 books.
7Up made a video on his project for their #feelsgoodtobeyou campaign that shows him driving through the streets of Buenos Aires and delivering books to people. He gives books away for free as long as they promise to read what he has given them. “I attack people in a very nice and fun way,” the artist jokes in a video. “My missions are very dangerous.”
What a fantastic thought–hope the idea of mobile libraries spreads far and wide, bringing with it literacy and love for the written word.
