It feels good to be able to meet deadlines, doesn’t it? Only about a month to go on this one, and I’m doing pretty all right. I think I’m good to go with the cover and the blurb is close to complete as well. Waiting now to hear back from my editor, hoping I’d be able to share an excerpt next week.
Sharing the blurb for those who have not had the chance to check it out–
c. 2566. The signs are clear. The time to evacuate Earth is now.
Summons are sent. But not to everyone. Only a handful will be picked to be part of the future colonies.
– A gifted teen for a way to escape her average life. She gets an offer that is hard to refuse. Will she dare to pay the price?
– The sole survivor of the worst megatron collapse in history doesn’t know what to do–celebrate this second chance at life or become a tool of vengeance . . .
– A boy raised within a cocoon of segregation faces his biggest challenge–standing up for someone who looks nothing like him.
Thrust into an unfamiliar world held in place by a harsh set of rules, will humanity make it?
Strangers meet. Bargains are made. Only one thing is a given–survival depends on forging the right alliances.
Population Morpheus is a compilation of interlinked short stories–it’s a mix of dystopia and sociological science fiction with a dash of space opera. This is a very exciting project for me because it will be my first foray into short stories. It’s scary as well, since it’ll be the first time I venture away from the safety of the meticulously planned world of my novel (The Lightbound Saga series). Guess there’s a first time for everything, right?
Oh well. I’ve had loads of fun putting this together, and I hope that shines through.
