“Independence Day: Resurgence” Trailer Looks Good

Oh, what a December! In the middle of all the hoopla around Star Wars (two more days to go BTW, YAY!), 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for its Independence Day sequel Resurgence.

I still can’t believe it has been 20 years since the original came out. Time really flies, huh?

Loved the trailer! The score is ominous, there seems no lightness about the movie, at least in the clips they showed. That means we’re in for a tense ride. And we should be, because those alien ships look meaner and mightier. Liam Hemsworth has been added to the cast and he’s an astronaut, Jeff Goldblum spends a whole lot of time looking worried, and his dad is around as well.

Only wish Will Smith was in it. Much of what I loved about Independence Day was its levity, and Will Smith had much to do with that. Hope they’ve found a way to make up for his absence. Other than that, Summer of 2016 has already started looking good.
