I love Vimeo. It is a treasure trove of creative works, my favorite among them are the science fiction shorts. They are perfect when your brain needs a break or a creative trigger. But, be warned, you could easily end up spending hours browsing fantastic video. I often do.

Today, I discovered this short film by Richard Mans. It is lovely–the idea, the animation, the music. The design of the mechanical pieces are particularly mind-blowing.

The supposed development of living organisms from nonliving matter. Also called autogenesis, spontaneous generation.


S.G. Basu is an aspiring potentate of a galaxy or two.
